Fitness Products
In dealing with a variety of athletes and fitness trainers, we continually learn about new products to promote strength and health. Here are a few of them:
Hi-Protein by Lloyd Kahn
About a year ago I read the book Protein Power by Michael R. Eades, and concluded that at my age (64) and at my level of physical activity (running, surfing, biking) I needed more protein. As soon as I started eating more meat and other high-protein foods, I felt an instant increase in energy and therefore well-being. It seemed like the extra protein was helping me recover from exertion, and facilitate quicker muscle repair.
I mentioned this to Bob Anderson, author of Stretching, who knows a lot about all things fitness-related, and he turned me on to Champion Nutritions UltraMet chocolate protein powder. Man! I have been using it for lunch 3 to 4 times a week these days. 41 grams of protein, I mix the powder with distilled water, a banana, ground almonds, a shot of Champions Metabolol Endurance, and (I must admit), a shot of organic rocket espresso coffee from Whole Foods. Whoooo! Were talkin energy.
Then we discovered Champions chocolate snack bars, each with 12 grams of protein
AND good tasting as well. I say this as a person who has gone thru Power Bars, Think Bars, Cliff Bars, Tsunami Bars, GeniSoy Bars, and more and can no longer eat any of them. But this bar is so good tasting (the guys at Champion use good Dutch Chocolate smart move!) I dont get tired of it. We go through them in the office, all five of us use them as a pick-up snack.
We recommend Champion products as high-quality, good-tasting, good-for-you stuff. (And this is an unsolicited ad.) If you want to buy wholesale, call Gordon Ziegler at 1-800-225-4831. Or here are the three products we recommend that you can buy online:
