Log Cabin in the Park
by Lloyd Kahn
I just discovered a unique building in Golden Gate Park. To see it, go down Lombard, take a left on Divisadero, then a right on Fell. Cross Stanyan and head into the park on Kennedy Drive. Stay to the right after the large stone (John McLaren) house on the right. (Don’t take the left fork which goes by the old Kezar stadium.) Stay on the main road through the park, don’t turn left to the aquarium/museum/teagarden or to the right down to Fulton. A sign on your left will say "Stow Lake." Veer off to the left, and there on your left is a beautiful (real) log cabin built in 1911 out of redwood logs. The joinery is tight and competent.
